You have no idea how excited I was when I opened the box and saw a salt scrub in there, like seriously I might of internally screamed a little too loud. I hopped in the shower as soon as I emptied all the box content. Oh dear oh dear oh dear as soon as I took a big whiff of this scrub I had a nosegasm. This scent Beach Bum truly smells like a trip to the Beach in a small container.
Now the actually scrub is so soft and gentle that I could of swore there was coconut flake chunks throughout the scrub but no there isn't. The salt literally absorbed all the coconut oil into this thick and gentle scrub. The scrub sits in a nice pool oil and I grab a chunk of it and spread it all over my body. The exfoliation is very mild and as you scrub it becomes even milder, and when you rinse you are left with a nice oily layer. After you pat dry your skin absorbed the oil all in making my skin soft and smelling great.
Would I purchase this myself? Absolutely my first salt scrub and quite frankly I had a very positive experience. Not only does it smell divine but it is a great buff for the skin. I am happy it is full size I will happily order another one before it runs out.
As I Mentioned in a previous post I am not a huge fan of lotion bars they are usually sticky and hard to maneuver but I am so happy I didn't write this off so quickly. The lotion bar out of all the ones I have tired is the slickest and easiest to maneuver on dry skin. On wet skin (meaning used as a shower lotion bar) it was even better. The day I used it (same day as my salt scrub) I used it dry and it slide all over my skin.
Now mind you I am not saying it was buttery slippery but it did glide on my skin without me having to rub it on hard. Sun & Surf smells just as good as Beach Bum and mixed with Beach Bum it's combination smell smells like a day at the beach through and through. The scent lingered on for many hours and my skin after taking some time to absorbed felt smooth and moisturized. If all lotion bars were similar to this I could see myself using lotion bars in place of body lotion/butter/frosting/etc some days.
Would I purchase this myself? I am proud to say yes I would. Most of the time I would be hesitant to add a lotion bar to any order but when I do place my post review order I will without a shadow of a doubt pick up another one. Maybe in a different scent but who knows I am loving Sun & Surf a lot.
The next item on my list is way too perfect for summer. The apres aloe vera mist is very refreshing to the skin. I haven't gotten a sun burn but my skin feels hot everytime I come back from a day outside. So I get the spray and spritz it on my arms and legs where needed and out comes a light, refreshing and fragrant mist. The scent lingers for a long time and my skin feels instantly cooled down because of the aloe vera.
Fun tip: Pop this bad boy in the fridge instead of keeping it room temperature and I swear to you it will be 150% more cooling than ever before. I did that yesterday after a fun day out and it was so refreshing, I even slightly spritz my face and it cooled it down and refreshed it. Not to mention I LOVE the scent it came in. This is a must have for any summer activities especially if you get a burn. This will instantly aid you in your discomfort.
Would I purchase this myself? Yup I will keep a stockpile of this for the summer, even hand one away to a family member to keep around. I highly recommend you guys do the same. Also the scent last a very long time that it is a win win.
Lastly, the Sis Boom Ahh Bath Soak in Sun & Surf as I mentioned in my Dat Spoon Review here I really LOVE her bath soaks. I used it previously as a mani soaked and loved it and I still have some left over. The one I received in that box and this are the same formula just different scents so I haven't had the need to use it.
To recap real quick this soak contains milk powder, epsom and sea salt this combination makes for a very silky and relaxing bath. This is perfect for sore muscles after a day of swimming, or any summer activities that might have you tired and sore. Even if you didn't tire your muscles out this is a great soak to stress relief for a little me time. I cannot praise this enough. I need to stock pile this in many scents.
Would I purchase this? Yes I would from now on any order I place this will be in it. Even if it is just one at a time I don't care it will be in there mark my words. It should be in yours too.
Overall I am highly impressed with Mama Roux first box. I cannot stress enough the quality of each and every item I received. I love both scents individually and combined it is heavenly. You MUST run and try this box for yourself. You can get it here . Until next time beauties!
